Legislation

This legislation applies to engineers registered under the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Act 2002.

Primary Legislation

The Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Act 2002 provides the legal foundation for the registration, regulation, and professional accountability of Chartered Professional Engineers in New Zealand.

Secondary Legislation

The Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules 2026 define the detailed criteria, processes, and expectations for the assessment, registration, and continued professional development of Chartered Professional Engineers, ensuring they maintain high standards of practice throughout their careers.
