Proposed fees and charges for 2026

Following feedback from last year’s consultation on fees, we’ve shifted to smaller, annual fee increases for CPEng to make things more predictable and manageable. It’s now time to review our fees and we want your thoughts on our plan.

We’re proposing a modest 2% increase to all fees associated with the CPEng scheme, effective from 1 January 2026. Under this proposal, the annual registration fee would rise from $547 to $558 (excluding GST). Other fees, including those for initial registration, would also increase by 2%. We know many professionals are under pressure right now, as we continue to face uncertainty across the sector and ongoing cost-of-living challenges. That’s why we’re proposing an increase below the current rate of inflation of 2.5%. This modest adjustment means we can remain cost-neutral without compromising the quality or integrity of our processes. 

The fees you pay allow us to deliver essential regulatory functions – including reassessments, complaints, disciplinary processes and continual system improvements to support a robust and credible registration framework.

You’ll also see the new CPEng Rules come into effect on 1 August, and we’ll begin work on introducing registration classes from 2026. We’re committed to ongoing consultation with you as this work progresses.
