Code of Ethics

The Code of Ethical Conduct sets out engineers’ ethical obligations. Chartered Professional Engineers are expected to meet these obligations, which reflect the additional responsibility expected of engineers above the general law, in the course of their engineering activities.

The Code is reviewed from time to time to make sure obligations fairly reflect society's expectations of engineers. We're currently reviewing the Code. A new version will take effect later in the year.

The Code of Ethical Conduct is set out in Part Three of the Chartered Professional Engineers of New Zealand Rules (No 2) 2002
